I am a PhD candidate majoring in Genetics, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology at Virginia Tech. I am a data scientist, mainly interested in mining Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data using machine learning and deep learning methods. My goal in research is discovery of personalized medicine for treatment of cancer using massive data analysis. This goal will come true in the next few years with advance of high throughout sequencing technologies and development of required infrastructure and computational tools for analysis of this vast amount of data. I am particularly interested in developing machine learning tools for analysis of NGS data. I begin my day with conducting research and massive data analysis of gigabytes and terabytes of RNA-seq data. I write my own algorithms and use existing tools to mine for meaningful information in these huge data. For further information, please visit my research.
